Working at Height Advanced Safety Course (WAH - Aerial Rescue)



Eligibility

Open to all members of the Emergency Rescue Team (ERT), who need to access and conduct aerial rescue works, on any form of elevated building, rooftops and steel structures, and that the task is within the scope of the rescue team.

Pre-requisite

Minimum with Medical Certificate and holds a valid WAH Basic Safety (Level 1) or WAH Advanced Safety (Level 2) certification.

Course Content

A Hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control, measures, current legislation and standards, fall prevention & fall arrest, emergency response including aerial rescue, rigging safety; use, inspection and maintenance of fall protection system, rescue equipments, lifting equipments and PPE.

Course Methodology & Assessment

A more comprehensive method of aerial rescue, through the theory, demonstration, group dynamics, written test and practical assessment of high-angle rescue.

2 Days

Course Notes & Certification

Notes provided with the certificate of attendance and competency card, valid for a one year period. Thereafter a re-assessment is required through a one day refresher course, in order to qualify the card holder a further one year validity period.

Training Venue

At Max Paragon training centre and on a tower structure.

Fee

To be negotiated.

Conditions for Application of Refresher courses

Should the expiry date be exceeded by more than one year, at the time of application, the card holder will have to attend the original two day course.
